Treasure, that is what you are...

Joshua 7:11-13 Devoted for Destruction... God commanded Joshua to tell his people that all the gold, silver, bronze, and iron in Jericho were to be dedicated to the Lord (Joshua 6)...but some kept it for themselves and God's anger burned against his people...what was to be devoted to Him, He now calls for it to be destroyed. I couldn't help but to think about when I receive things that God gives me and not devote it to Him, my relationship with the Father is damaged a little more. I realize that time, money, relationships, children...anything God gives is my gold, silver, bronze, and iron. The things given to me by the Father are a blessing and precious. To abuse, steal, take for granted, and not appreciate these things, affects my relationship in a way that can lead to destruction. God told Joshua "I will be with you no more unless you destroy the devoted things from among you". All things He has given us are a blessing but when they become idols or when we gather out of selfish ambition, it becomes a danger and draws us further away from Him. How are you treating your gold, silver, bronze, and iron?
